// WHAT ARE COOKIES
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and keep you logged in between visits.
// HOW WE USE COOKIES
ShouldIBack uses a minimal set of cookies — all functional or essential. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies (e.g. Google Analytics). We do not track you across other websites.
// COOKIES WE SET
| Cookie Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Essential | Session / 1 week | Supabase authentication session. Keeps you logged in across page visits. Required for the service to function. |
| sib_utm | Functional | 30 days | Stores your UTM referral source (e.g. utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) so we can understand how you found us. Saved at signup. |
| sib_ref | Functional | 30 days | Stores a referral code if you arrived via a referral link. Used to credit the referrer if you upgrade to Pro. |
| admin_session | Essential | Session | Admin authentication cookie. Only set for administrators. Not present for regular users. |
// THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
We do not set third-party cookies. However, if you use Stripe to subscribe to Pro, Stripe may set their own cookies during the checkout process. These are governed by
Stripe's Privacy Policy.
// MANAGING COOKIES
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling the auth session cookie will prevent you from staying logged in. Other functional cookies can be disabled without affecting core functionality.
Most browsers allow you to: view cookies stored, block cookies from specific sites, or clear all cookies on exit. Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions.
